The word telephone once again is linked to the Geakish language Greek which accounts for some 50k word adoptions into the modern language known as English language which has over 50k Geakish words derived from Greek.

First SMS (machine generated) in the UK was on 3rd Dec 1992 and not 25th Dec.
The first text SMS was sent in Finland in 1993 and from there the SMS began to rule the youth, it became a great method of communication amongst the youth and now SMS is preferred over voice calls by many.
2G gave birth to media contents on the mobile phone and then the first internet service on the mobile phone once again in Japan in 1999.
Demand to access the internet (data transfer services) grew strongly but it was extremely slow and demanded attention hence the berth of 3G.
The first 3G was launched by NTT DoCoMo (sound Irish but it s not) in may 2001 and while this 3G was being perfected 2.5G systems were developed as an extension of 2G network.
2007 witnessed 295 million subscribers on 3G network worldwide, growth of subscribers using the internet slowed every thing down once again and it required further attention from the think tanks.
This thinking has now given birth to 4G which promises speeds of 10folds as compared to 3G
